一、教学内容分析

本单元的中心话题是“计算机”,内容涉及计算机的发展历史及应用等,其中还谈到包括计算机在内的几种信息技术的载体、智能计算机的发明等等。不过,整个单元多以计算机为第一人称进行自白,这种拟人的手法使得文章读起来妙趣横生,抽象的专业知识介绍起来也浅显易懂。本主旨语篇who am i?以计算机的口吻自述其发展演变的历史以及计算机在当今世界各个领域的运用。表达了计算机的发展变化之快以及在生活中用途之广。

二、学情分析

计算机这一话题虽然是学生所感兴趣的话题,但本单元体裁属于科普类说明文,内容较为抽样,文章中有一些专业术语,对于高一学生来说有一定的难度。目前,学生的词汇量不足以充分的理解课文,而且学生的跨文化意识不高并且背景知识匮乏,语言和信息的双向促进关系的能力不足。学生的课外语言活动环境不够丰富和重视程度不够,通常以词汇、语法和写作练习为主,缺乏真实的语言运用。

三、教学目标

(1)Language skills:

1.Use “decision making” expressions such as “i believe...in my opinion, etc.” correctly.

2.Develop their predicting and reorganizing abilities.

3.Write a composition on “my own robot”

(2)language knowledge:

1.Use their own words to share the background information of computers.

2.Find and retell the grammar structure of the present perfect passive voice.

(3)Emotions and attitudes

1.Be aware of the influence about computers and internet

2.Encourage the students to be curious about the internet,forming a right attitude to using the internet.

3.Know about the culture of computers and pursue healthy culture online.

(4)Teaching important points:

Enable students to use their own words to write a composition named “my own robot”

(5)Teaching difficult points

Have a good command of computers’ background, famous people and new usage, and develop students’ predicting and reorganizing skills.

四、教学过程

step1:Greetings and leading-in

activity1: Guessing game

Let students predict the topic by watching some attractive pictures.

step2: Pre-reading

activity2: Preparing and sharing(individual and group work)

1.Teacher or students can provide some related information about this reading part, which can include various writing styles or versions referring to the history, celebrities or applications of computers.

2.Divide students into some groups, and let them use the skimming and scan skills to organize the information, and then introduce their information to the class.

step3: while-reading

activity3: Read the passage and finish the timeline below.(Exercise on page 19)

Activity 4: Careful-reading

To read the passage again, finding the main idea of each paragraph and summarize the supporting details.

Actvity5: Change the following sentences into the present perfect passive voice.

1.My friend has bought a new personal computer.

2.The shop has repaired my computer very quickly.

3.We have not solved the problem yet.

4.The computer has given its computers away to a local school.

Activity 6: Ask-and-answer.

q1: What have you learned about computers?

q2: Think about what you would have to do if you could not use computers anymore?

2.Task:“My own robot”

Write a description of your android and what it can do.You may draw a picture of it if you wish.Use your notes and the following sample passage on page24 to help you.

五、教学反思

本单元设计了若干情景与活动,旨在以学生为主体,充分调动他们的积极性,让他们在有趣的课堂活动中有效学习。但本堂课中也出现了若干问题:课堂上的时间分配要更加的科学一些,不能平分时间,一些“热身”活动应该轻轻带过,否则会造成课堂的时间控制不了。从课堂实践来看,学生乐于在小组中进行合作学习,所以任务设计更要符合学生的实际水平,难易要适中,而且设计活动时要考虑活动有教学目标是否真正一致,避免活动流于形式。总体上,本设计以活动为中心,以学生为主体,将英语学习与现实生活紧密结合,体现了跨学科的外语教学。教学过程环环相扣,从难到易,从语言知识到篇章结构,将阅读技能的训练贯穿整个课堂教学。
