这道大学英语四级作文试题要求考生给一位外国朋友写一封信，向这位外国朋友推荐一个学习汉语的place。place的意思比较宽泛，它可以是一个地区、一个城市、一个乡镇、一所大学，甚至一座建筑。因此，我们不妨向这位外国朋友推荐中国的普通话之乡——河北省滦平县。这封书信从称呼开始写起，我们假设这位朋友的名字叫Alan，称呼可以写Dear Alan。稱呼要顶格写，后面用逗号。

这封书信的正文可以写三个段落。第一段先写得知朋友的汉语发音有困难，感到很遗憾，然后交代写这封信的目的——向他推荐一个提高汉语的地方。第二段先推荐朋友到滦平县学习汉语，然后详述推荐的三条理由：首先，由于历史原因，河北省滦平县被称为中国的普通话之乡，在这里，人人都说一口字正腔圆的普通话，因此，到这里学习汉语，可以学到纯正的汉语发音;其次，滦平有许多历史古迹，比如一段保存完好的长城;最后，滦平当地还有许多美食，可以大饱口福。第三段是一些客套话，如希望对方觉得自己的推荐有用，如果他想进一步了解这个地方，请他尽管给自己写信等。

正文下面是署名。署名一般写在信纸中间偏右的位置，分两行书写，上下对齐。由于这是一封写给朋友的信，上一行可写Yours truly（或Truly yours），假设你叫李明，下一行写Li Ming。下面请看参考范文：

I was sorry to learn that you do not do well in Chinese pronunciation. You asked me to recommend a place for you to improve your Chinese. Im writing this letter to offer you some advice.

本题要求考生论述具有社会责任感的重要性。由于这个话题比较抽象，所以我们最好用定义法开头，即作文的第一段就给社会责任感下个定义。这个定义不一定要无懈可击，能自圆其说即可。我们认为社会责任感就是一个人意识到的对整个社会的责任和义务。

第二段论述具有社会责任感的重要性。由于本题中没有表明是谁的社会责任感，我们不妨从个人层面着眼，论述一个人具有社会责任感的重要性。可以从两个方面展开论述：第一，有了社会责任感，我们会通过做志愿工作让这个世界变得更加美好，比如在当地公园里捡垃圾，或者到贫困地区支教;第二，具有社会责任感会增加我们自己的幸福感，比如，当意识到我们的捐款能给别人的生活带来变化，我们就会感到快乐和满足。我们还可以引用哈佛大学的一项研究以增加说服力。第三段先总结上文，指出社会责任感不但能增加我们的幸福感，而且能让这个世界变得更加美好;最后建议在全国开展一场宣传运动，以增强公众的社会责任感。下面请看参考范文：
