Giraffes are very tall animals. They have very long tongues. A giraffes tongue can be fifty centimeters long！ Giraffes use their tongues for cleaning themselves. They can even clean their ears with their tongues！ Their tongues are important for other things， too.

A giraffes favorite food is green leaves of the acacia① trees. These trees have sharp thorns②， but the giraffes tongue can go between them. The giraffes long neck is also important because the best 〓〓〓〓 are at the top of the trees. Giraffes love these leaves， and they eat for about eighteen hours every day.

Giraffes live in many countries， but most of them are living in East Africa and the northern parts of Southern Africa. They dont live in wet tropical③ forest.
