澳大利亚总督访渝

澳大利亚总督彼得·科斯格罗夫在澳大利亚驻华公使馆旧址图片展开幕式上致辞。Governor of Australia,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove deliverying speech at the ceremony.

3月29日，澳大利亚总督彼得·科斯格罗夫访问重庆，并为在澳大利亚驻华公使馆旧址举行的抗战时期澳驻渝机构图片展揭幕。彼得总督表示，澳大利亚驻华公使馆旧址见证了两国愈发蓬勃的友好态势，也见证了重庆的经济发展，此次图片展是对两国之间自二战时期便结下的深厚友谊的深切致敬。

澳大利亚驻华公使馆于1940年10月在抗战期间的重庆鹅岭原童家花园修建，是澳大利亚在中国设立的第一个驻华公使馆，也是澳大利亚第三个派驻海外国家的外交机构，成为了重庆与澳大利亚交往的标志。

在参观完图片展览后，彼得总督还前往园内参观了在2009年时任澳大利亚外交部长斯蒂芬史密斯访渝时，在鹅岭公园内亲自种下的象征中澳友谊的纪念桉树。

当日下午，彼得总督一行还前往重庆空港物流园区，出席了澳大利亚嘉民重庆空港物流中心的开幕典礼，并为奠基石揭幕、种植纪念树。

重庆市副市长陈绿平、中国驻澳大利亚大使马朝旭、重庆市政府副秘书长艾扬、澳大利亚驻华大使孙芳安、澳大利亚驻成都总领事郭南希陪同并参加相关活动。

On March 29,Governor of Australia,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove visited Chongqing and unveiled the photo exhibition of Australia’s diplomatic mission in wartime China.Sir Peter Cosgrove said that the Chungking legation site has witnessed increasingly vigorous momentum of friendship between Australia and China;also the economic development of Chongqing,this photo exhibition is a deep salute on profound friendship between the two countries during World War II.

Australia’s legation in China was built at Eling(original the Tongjia Garden) in Chongqing during the anti-Japanese war in October 1940,it is the first resident mission in China,also third stationed overseas diplomatic mission of Australia,which symbolizes the friendly exchanges between Chongqing and Australia.

After visiting the exhibition,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove went to visit the eucalyptus that symbolized the memorial Sino-Australian friendship which the former Australian Foreign Minister,Mr.Stephen Smith personally planted inside the Eling Park in 2009 during his visit to Chongqing.

That afternoon,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove went to Chongqing Airport Logistics Park to attend the opening ceremony of the Australian Goodman airport logistics center establishing in Chongqing,unveiling the foundation stone,planting memorial trees.
