海南特产英文翻译指瑕及对策

摘 要 文章对海南特产椰子粉的英文翻译存在的瑕疵或错误进行指瑕，分析造成英文翻译的瑕疵或错误原因，提出提高思想认识、专业人员做翻译、工商管理部门联合监督、编制出版海南特产英文翻译专用术语手册等策略。

The Comment on the English Translation Flaw of

Hai'nan Speciality and Its Countermeasures

——A Case Study of the Englsih Translation of the Coconut Powder

Abstract This paper， firstly points out the flaw in the English translation of Hainan speciality—the coconut powder， and then analyzes its cause of the flaw， and at last puts forward the countermeasures， such as improving ideological understanding， letting the professional translator do his job， enhancing the joint supervision of the industrial and commercial administration， composing and publishing the English translation term manual for Hai'nan speciality.

0 引言

翻译是一门学科。从一种语言转换到另一种语言就涉及到翻译。翻译的最高境界是 “信”“达”“雅”（严复，1897）。然而要达到此标准非专业人士不能为也。国内对翻译方面的论述有很多， 有人对大学学报的英文翻译和译校进行指瑕（陈忠诚，2007）;有人对城市街头中文名称英译指瑕（李显宁，2007;夏康明，2005）;有学者对中药药名的翻译进行了探讨（陈嘉，2003）。可以说，国人对翻译的论述已经比较广泛。但是作为海南名片的特产之一的椰子粉的英文翻译却极少有人关注，这样的情形不利于本产品的发展，为此本文将对此进行探究。

1 海南椰子产品的英文翻译指瑕

椰岛牌椰子粉中文介绍是：本产品选用海南新鲜红叶子为原料，经过独特的科学工艺精制而成，富含多种微量元素、氨基酸、维生素和矿物质，更易吸收。该产品营养丰富、纯正可口、即冲即引。是居家旅行、馈赠亲友的高级饮料。

椰岛牌浓香椰子粉的英文翻译是（为了不改变产品的介绍，这里连标点符号都原不动地摘录下来）：This product adopt the famous Hainan Red Coconut as raw material， with advanced processing technics， rich in microelements，amino acid， multivitamin， and mineral substance. This product is nutritious and have a natural taste. Its really your good choice to take this speciality and a nice travel gift for your family members and your friends.

从产品的英文翻译中，我们可以看出，adopt应该是adopts才能与主语This product一致;在raw material之前， 应该加上its这样……
