The Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) has vowed to constantly improve its service quality so as to maintain its competitive advantages as the city wants to build itself into an international exhibition hub by 2020.

To develop exhibition industry has been listed into the citys development goal during the 13rd Five Year Plan. By 2020, professional exhibition companies in the city will reach 200 with more than 30 global famous exhibition companies, and more than 80 percent of exhibitions each year will be international exhibitions.

“Right now many new expo venues are being built all over the country. This development surely increases the competition between venues and cities. Shanghai is undoubtedly already the largest exhibition platform in the world with around 1million square meters of available space,” said Michael Kruppe, General Manager of SNIEC.

“Organizers, exhibitors , buyers and visitors appreciate the convenience of Shanghai. Besides Shanghai is the largest and most professional platform in Asia, if not the world, to commercialize products and services and this is what companies need most,” he said.

Located in Shanghais Pudong New Area, the SNIEC was the first Sino-foreign joint-venture exhibition center in China. It was established in 2001 by the German Exposition Corporation International GmbH, a joint subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, Messe Duesseldorf GmbH and Messe Muenchen GmbH; and the Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Development Co Ltd.

The SNIEC offers 17 column-free, ground-level exhibition halls, covering 200,000 square meters of indoor space and 100,000 square meters of outdoor space. It has been part of the explosive growth of Chinas convention and exhibition economy over the past decade and has developed into one of most successful exhibition centers in the country. Each year, around 100 world-class exhibitions are held at the SNIEC, attracting more than 4 million guest visits.

“We fully understand show organizers demand and have started a series of efforts to further improve services for their exhibitors, so as to let our customers succeed and win over their competition,” Kruppe said.

Nowadays the large trade shows in the world are Brands, and Brands need only one thing to further be successful in an ever competitive market: keep and increase the quality of their shows, according to Kruppe.

“ We understands this request from our customers and already have and further will invest in resources accordingly,” he added.“Another big advantage is our 15 years experience. If we talk about competition we believe that this factor will make the customer relaxed as they put their show in professional hands.” he said.

“Our experience allows us to simultaneously handle various events and apply the same operations to different shows at the same time. And all we do is top quality. So this is the real success story of the SNIEC,” Kruppe said.

According to SNIEC, it has gone through a strategic analysis of their core business in the last 12 months. And it sticks to go the “extra mile” and do utmost to support all organizers to remain successful in their industry in an ever increasing competitive market, backed up by Excellence & Experience powered by SNIEC.

As world economies remain weak, the management of SNIEC spares no effort to prove once again that the state of the art venue in the heart of Shanghais commercial and financial district Pudong understands that the magic word is SERVICE.

“ We believe that only by life long improving our services our customers will succeed to let their brand shows also be successful”says Michael Kruppe , head of SNIEC.

For example, SNIEC has analysed the situation of the trade shows and it is obvious that besides the traditional trade show business, more and more customers are interested in holding conferences and confex events in SNIEC. Due to that development SNIEC is considering to discuss with the government a project of building a new multi-functional hall in the venue. “This also shows our commitment to our customers that we will serve Shanghai Exhibition industry in the next decades and onwards,” Kruppe said.

Besides that, SNIEC also launched a series of new feature to improve its services. Fo example, SNIEC has identified the importance of digitalization and is already working on upgrades of the venue. It established the new digital platform allowing GPS for trucks to faster and safer to move in, free WIFI coverage in the venue.

It established strategic alliance with American associations like IAEE,TSE and SISO. It also allocated a direct contact for organizer to call to solve urgent problems immediately, carried out annual customer surveys to be able to act quickly to new requirements, or increased number of free shuttle busses on the venue, just to name a view of the actions already implemented.

Another very important part is the safety and security management. As obviously the world is getting a more dangerous place , SNIEC has strengthened the measures in the venue and is also working closer with the government bodies in order to maintain a safe environment. At the same time, also the work safety manuals are upgraded in order to make sure that the work during move in and out for each show will be improved.

“SNIECs core business was and always will be to deliver the best and fastest service to the show organizers. We consider this as the main driver why a show organizers will choose SNIEC and keep us in a leading place among Chinas exhibition venues”Kruppe said.” Finally, we also like to repeat that, as before, SNIEC will remain independent, that means that we will not organize our own shows to compete with our own customers”, Kruppe emphasizes.
