Dear Tom,

My name is Li Hua, an exchange student from China. I'm writing to you with the aim of buying the bicycle you advertised. I saw your ad about the bike on sale coincidentally on the Internet. I found that is exactly what I needed. I've been here for a couple of days and I'm really very tired of waiting for the school bus every day. Sometimes I got stuck in the traffic congestion. Although the government has come up with all kinds of schemes to deal with the problem, ranging from congestion charges to number plate lotteries, however, the traffic jam is a problem felt all over the world, and a notoriously hard issue to solve. So a bike is advantageous in several aspects.

For the first place, riding a bike can save me both time and money, for in the long run, the cost on school bus can be eye-watering, and the time wasted in road congestion can otherwise be better used. Secondly, riding a bicycle can also help me keep in fitness because I can exercise on the way, which is blessing for us busy students who are burying our heads all day long in schoolwork and can barely spare free time for body exercise. Moreover, it's much convenient for me to travel around by bike. On weekends and holidays, I can ride the bicycle around the town with several friends to go sightseeing in some scenic spots and historical sites without worrying about traffic congestion spoiling our passion and enthusiasm for outdoor activities and tours, which is bound to have a lot fun. Furthermore, a bike is green transport with zero pollutants emission as well as saving energy for it can be an alternative of private cars and public transportation. The latter is out of question unbearably overcrowded, making the experience of public transportation so unpleasant that riding a bike is all the more attractive. The school bus is all the same because it is also prone to extreme overcrowding. It can also stop by almost anywhere for ones convenience. What suits me the finest is the price you have offered.

Finally Id like to extend my sincere thanks for you careful maintenance so that it is in perfect condition. And I am grateful that you are so kind to prepare air pump and three locks for it. The information you provided is valuable. Nevertheless, I want to know more features such as its size and color. I would appreciate it if you could send me a picture. And I am willing to know in what way you want to receive my payment, via posting of cash or credit card? I'm looking forward to your reply.

Yours,

Li Hua
