柳

It is a willow when summer is over，

a willow by the river

from which no leaf has fallen nor

bitten by the sun

turned orange or crimson1）.

The leaves cling and grow paler，

swing and grow paler

over the swirling waters of the river

as if loth2） to let go，

they are so cool， so drunk with

the swirl of the wind and of the river—

oblivious3） to winter，

the last to let go and fall

into the water and on the ground.

这是一棵过完夏季的柳树，

一棵河边的柳树，

没有一片叶子飘落，也没有

一片叶子在阳光的咬噬下

变得橙黄或者深红。

树叶固守着，颜色越来越淡，

摇曳着，越来越淡，

在盘旋的河水上空

似乎不愿离去，

如此淡定，陶醉于

风和水的漩流——

无视冬的存在，

直到最后才放松，飘落

到水中，到地面。endprint
