【Abstract】Objective:To analyze the clinical value of using holmium laser anatomical enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) or transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in the treatment of small-volume benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods:Patients in the observation group were treated with HoLEP surgery, while the control group was treated with TURP surgery during the same period. Results:The PVR, IPSS, Qmax of the two groups before operation were compared(P>0.05), the postoperative PVR and IPSS of the observation group were lower thanthose ofthe control group, and the Qmax of the observation group was higher than that ofthe control group (P<0.05);the the incidence of postoperative complication rate was 5.41% in the observation group, 18.92% in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The therapeutic value of HoLEP surgery for small-volume benign prostatic hyperplasia patients is higher than that of TURP surgery. The former is more conducive to improvepatients’ clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.
