Known as the Earths twin， Venus is similar to our planet in many ways. Both are about the same size， both have cloudy air， and both share some of the same landscape features： mountains， plains， and high plateaus. But while the earth has an average temperature of 14℃， Venus averages 462℃. Whats more， the temperature on Venus remains the same all over the planet， and its as hot at night as it is during the day.

Why is Venus so hot？ The answer lies in its thick air， the densest in our solar system. Thick yellow clouds fill the planet. The clouds get the suns heat in Venuss air， so the planet is always hot. Many scientists believe that Venus once had oceans， just like the Earth， but they became air.
