同學们,你们知道吗?每年的5月8日被定为“世界微笑日”,这是唯一一个庆祝人类行为表情的节日。微笑能营造人和人之间友善的氛围,让我们一起来了解一下“世界微笑日”吧!

In 1948, the World Mental Health Organization(世界精神卫生组织) set World Smile Day on May 8th. On this warm day, people smile to each other.

On World Smile Day, people fly large balloons with smiling faces. Every year, people in different places make smiling faces with different ways. They want to win Guinness World Records(吉尼斯世界纪录).

MINAMINA Beach is in Japan. “MINA” means “smile” in Ainu(阿伊努语). People can have fun on MINAMINA Beach.

Smile Island is in Malaysia(马来西亚). It is made up of three little islands. When we look at these three islands from the air, they look like a smiling face.

“Khmer smile” is the four-faced

buddha(四面佛) in Bayon(巴戎), Cambodia(柬埔寨). In Bayon, there are 49 Four-faced Buddhas. Each Buddha has a different smiling face. It is known as the most beautiful and peaceful smile in the world.

Quokka(短尾矮袋鼠) is one of the smallest kangaroos. It is called the “Happiest Animal” in the world for its sweet smile.

The Shiba Inu(柴犬) is called the “Smiling Angel”. When it closes its eyes and sticks out its tongue, it looks like smiling.

The Yangtze Finless Porpoise(扬子江江豚) is small. It has small eyes and a smiling mouth. When it opens its mouth, we can see its cute teeth, just like an elf(精灵). So they are called the “ Smiling Elves”.

2. A smile makes people ten years younger.

3. Smiling can relieve stress.

4. Smiling is contagious(有感染力的).

5. Smiling can make people healthy.
