1. marry意为“（和某人）结婚;嫁;娶”。例如：

3. marry意为“为……证婚;为……主持婚礼”，句子的主语通常为牧师、神父、家长等。例如：

1. marry意为“结婚”，需用主动语态，常与一些副词或时间状语连用。例如：

The young couple have fallen in love with each other for years and will get married next month.

这对年轻人相爱多年，将于下个月结婚。

Anna plans to get married to her boyfriend in September. 安娜计划9月和她的男朋友结婚。

3. be married （to sb） 意为“与……结婚;嫁给……”，可与表示一段时间的状语连用。例如：

【焦点三】使用marry的注意事项

1. marry用作及物动词时，后面直接跟宾语，不能与with连用，即用“A marry B”句式。例如：

译：他想要与爱丽丝结婚，但是她嫁给了别人。

（×） He wanted to marry with Alice， but she married someone else.

（√） He wanted to marry Alice， but she married someone else.

2. marry为短暂性动词，其肯定式不能与表示一段时间的状语连用。若要表示“结婚多长时间了”，要用系表结构be married或It is ... since句式。例如：

译：他们结婚已经5年了。

（×） They have married for five years.

（√） They married five years ago.

（√） They were married five years ago.

（√） They got married five years ago.

（√） They have been married for five years.

（√） It is / has been five years since they got married.
