Grand Hyatt Beijing

Beijing’s Mayor Guo Jinlong (middle) recently presented the 2009 Great Wall Friendship Award to Foued EL Mabrouk (left), General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Beijing, and to 15 other fellow recipients for their contributions to the social and economic progress of Beijing.

Set up by the Beijing Municipal Government in 1999, the Great Wall Friendship Award is the top honor for foreign experts working in Beijing and is presented annually to those who have contributed to the development of the Chinese capital. A total of 145 foreign experts from 28 different countries have won the award so far.

JW Marriott Hotel Beijing

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has recently announced that it will open Shangri-La Hotel, Nanjing, and Shangri-La Hotel, Yangzhou, in 2012. The two hotels in Jiangsu Province will join the group’s existing six hotels in the Yangtze River Delta and two further projects in Shanghai opening in the next two years. By 2012, Shangri-La will operate 10 hotels in the region and be represented in all major cities of the economic powerhouse and center of business and leisure travel.
