关于同文书会研究的几个问题辨析

[摘 要] 过去学界对于基督教出版机构同文书会的论述存在一些分歧或误解。笔者通过查阅原始文献，分析核对具体情况，对四个问题作了辨析：（1）上海同文书会成立后仍然与格拉斯哥书刊协会保持母会与子会的关系；（2）在中文中，同文书会改称广学会的时间应以1892年为准；（3）韦廉臣在1887年之前创办的印刷所为墨海书局，与英国伦敦会的墨海书馆没有继承关系和业务往来；（4）《皇朝经世文续编》不是由同文书会出版，而是由上海一家石印厂印刷的。

[Abstract] There are some disagreements and misunderstanding on the Society for the Diffusion of Christian and General Knowledge among the Chinese in the academic circles. Through extensive reading of the original references， four facts have been clarified. Firstly， after its establishment， the Society for the Diffusion of Christian and General Knowledge among the Chinese maintained relationship with Chinese Book and Tract Society in Glasgow as parent society and affiliated society. Secondly， the exact time of renaming its Chinese name from Tong Wen Shu Hui to Guang Xue Hui was in 1892. Thirdly， the printing press founded by Alexander Williamson before 1887 was Mo Hai Shu Ju，which had neither inheritance nor business relation with London Missionary Press founded by London Missionary Society. Fourthly， Huang Chao Jing Shi Wen Xu Bian was published by a lithographic print workhouse in Shanghai rather than the Society for the Diffusion of Christian and General Knowledge among the Chinese.

在清末民国时期涌现出许多基督教出版机构，广学会是其中生存期较长、影响力最大的，在西学传播中扮演了重要角色。广学会在创立初期名为同文书会。已有多部学术著作和学位论文在论述广学会的初创时期时涉及同文书会，其中代表性的有：1957年方汉奇撰《广学会与万国公报》；1964年江文汉撰《广学会是怎样的一个机构》；1973年台湾学者王树槐撰《清季的广学会》；1999年李联社撰《早期广学会在华书刊发行策略分析》。上个世纪 90年代，叶再生连续发表《广学会初探》及续一、续二共3篇文章；香港学者李志刚发表过3篇文章：《广学会之发展与中国时局转变之关系》《广学会文字事工的回顾与展望》《广学会出版事业对时代转变的适应》。顾长声著《传教士与近代中国》（1981年），顾卫民著《基督教与近代中国社会》（1996年），李喜所主编、张静等著《五千年……
