2. congratulate vt. 祝贺，庆祝

易混辨析： celebrate与congratulate

celebrate通常指庆祝有意义的日子或事件，常常伴有盛大的庆典仪式，多指庆祝节日;congratulate通常指以对他人祝贺为目的，希望他人幸福或走运或表达对某人的赞扬。
