Two Frogs

Two frogs had lived in a village alltheir lives.Theythoughtthey would like to go and see the big city that was about tenmilesaway.They talked about it for a long time,and at last theyset offto see the city.

两只青蛙一生都生活在一个村庄里。他们想去看看十英里外的那座大城市。关于这件事，他们谈论很长时间了，最终他们出发去参观这座城市。

It was a hot day,and they soon began to feel tired.They had only gone a little way when one said to the other,“We must be nearly there.Can you see the city?”

那是一个炎热的日子，他们很快就开始感到疲倦。他们才走了一小段路，这时其中一只青蛙对另一只青蛙说道：“我们一定快到了。你能看到那座城市吗？”

“No,” said the other frog,“but if Iclimb onyour back,I might be able to see it.”

“看不见，”另一只青蛙说，“但是，如果我爬到你的背上，我也许就能看到那座城市。”

So heclimbed upon the back of the other frog to see the city.

于是，他爬到了另一只青蛙的背上，以便能看到那座城市。

Now when the frog put up his head,his eyes could only see what was behind,and not what was in front.So he saw the village they had just left.

现在，当这只青蛙抬起头时，他的眼睛只能看到身后的东西，而看不到前面的东西。所以，他看到了他们刚刚离开的村庄。

“Can you see the city?” asked the frog who was below.

“你能看到那座城市吗？”下面的那只青蛙问道。

“Yes,” answered the frog who had climbed up,“I can see it.It looks just like our village.”

“是的，”爬在另一只青蛙背上的青蛙回答道，“我能看到这座城市了。它看起来就像我们的村庄。”

Then the frogs thought that it was notworthwhilegoing any farther.So,they went back and told the frogsround the villagethat they had seen the city,and it was just like theirs.

这时，这两只青蛙认为再往前走就不值得了。因此，他们返回了，并且告诉村里的其他青蛙，他们已经看过了那座城市，而那座城市就和他们的村庄一模一样。
