A study of English learning styles of senior high school students

【Abstract】with the continuous development of the new curriculum teaching reform, English Teaching in senior high school has also been significantly improved. More and more senior high school English teachers prefer to adopt more innovative and scientific teaching methods, which can improve the efficiency of English Teaching in senior high school. However, under the influence of the traditional teaching mode, high school English teachers still focus on Teachers' “teaching” while ignoring the “learning” of the students.

With the development of the times and the reform of the curriculum standards, high school English teaching theory has been optimized, the importance of more and more high school English teachers realize that students accept ability research, but also realize the interaction between teachers and students teaching and learning to improve the learning ability of students to promote the teaching level of teachers to enhance the bilateral value.

I. High school students' English learning styles and causes

Different learning styles of senior high school students are different, mainly by the characteristics of high school students, learning foundation and the influence of the living environment. Before the commencement of individual teachers to guide students, should first make a deep analysis on the causes of learning styles of senior high school students, only to understand the different causes of English learning styles of senior high school students, in order to better grasp the learning motivation and learning needs of students, to achieve the overall care for the students in the personal teaching. Have the first learning styles of students mostly introverted, but I willing to learn, good at accumulating, they have the advantage of strong stability and the basis of their character, the disadvantage is to communicate with other students enough English listening and communication skills are limited. They tend to like to learn in a relatively relaxed, slow progress of the teaching environment, and gradually improve the level of English learning, the ability to adapt to the high pressure of the teaching environment and rapid assault style teaching. Has second kinds of learning styles of students tend to live in a good cultural atmosphere in the family, they can receive a large number of cultural influence, access to a wide range of learning resources English, their advantage lies in the profound culture, disadvantage is that do not recognize the importance of the basic knowledge, they hope to have more shows in teaching the opportunity for self, and enhance their understanding of English culture.

II. The Enlightenment of high school English learning styles on English Teaching

High school English teachers must carry out different teaching for different learning styles, and make the teaching plan according to the different learning styles of students, so as to promote the comprehensive ability of students. For the first kind of learning style of students, high school English teachers should be careful not to give them too much burden, do not use other students' strengths and they formed, causing their sensitive feelings of inferiority. Senior high school English teachers should be in this part of the students' learning attitude after two students incentive manufacturing topics, but also pay attention to create more opportunities for oral communication in this part of the students, enhance their self-confidence, improve their English listening and speaking ability. According to the second kinds of learning styles of students, high school English teachers should give them more classroom performance opportunities, so that they will learn in their extracurricular knowledge into the classroom teaching in order to improve their enthusiasm to participate in classroom teaching. High school English teachers should arrange more basic knowledge for this part of the students, and repeatedly stressed the importance of basic knowledge for their study. In view of the third learning styles of students, high school English teachers should not attack their enthusiasm for learning, it is best to introduce competitive learning mechanism to stimulate their learning motivation. High school English teachers should be fully affirmed the analysis ability and intelligence of their minds, and make the appropriate pressure to promote them to keep learning seriously, as they set the stage of expectations, and in their internal competition, give to award stage progress outstanding students, stimulate their desire.

Conclusion

High school English teachers should strengthen the study of students' learning style, so as to improve the quality of English Teaching in senior high school.
