Passage 1

This evening I had chat with my father,who is now a successful manager. He once takes several jobs before becoming manager,experienced a difficult financial position. The secret of his success,he often says,lies on the fact which he always pushes himself outside his comfort zone to achieve his goals. He said,“Your comfort zone is where everything feels safely and familiar. How can you reach greater heights unless you don’t want to step outside your comfortable zone?” In fact,I used to avoid to doing things I knew I should do because it made me feel uncomfortable. Hearing what my father said,I felt regretful. I’ve made up my mind to follow my father’s advices.

Passage 2

My classmate Chen Yang had been in our city for half a year. He still remembers the day that his family left for their farm. His parents had big smiles as they discussed the wonderful new life we would have in the city. They told him what the lucky boy he was to come to this wonderful city. Therefore,the city looked big,cold,and dirty to him. He didn’t want to go to school because it made him thinking of his friends at home. Later I noticed him and felt his sad. I said,“I left my hometown years ago and I know it’s hard start a new life,and let’s face it. I did it,and you can do it,too.”

So far I have had many teachers I love,but one I remember most is Mrs. Lin. She was my 5th grade teacher. Since I was a new student,not only in her class,and at the school,she was made my time there much more pleasant. She was real funny and I knew she liked me. Besides,she made myself leader for many group projects,what made me feel special. I think that would make any child feel special,especially when a child is in a newer place without friends. I will try to turn teachers like Mrs. Lin some day. I just hope there will have a student who regards me for their favorite teacher.

When it came to an e-reader,some of my friends are strong against it. They says that they do really like paper books because of they love the feel,the touch and the smell. However,the majority of my classmate think an e-reader is quite useful. For example,when you need a book,it’s much fast to download than to get them from a bookstore. Besides,whether you go on holiday,you don’t have to take many books with you. With an e-reader,you can have all of them just by use a very little space in your suitcase. In my daily life,I like reading paper books. But for something like the train,e-reader of course is perfect.

Born in Austria in 1756,Mozart is one of the world’s most famous musician. At the age of six,he was amazed the world with his musical ability. In fact,a small boy would listen to his sister Nannerl’s music lessons,and then trying to play along. When she was only four,Mozart learned an entirely piece of music by heart. When Mozart was six and Nannerl was ten,their father,a violinist and composer,take them on a European tour. Everywhere they went,the children made the audiences crazy about their performances. With he grew up,people were not amazed at Mozart’s talent as they were when he was a child. He died at the age of 35,deeply on debt.
